Course Description :As stated in the approved study plan. Welcome to Introduction to Seismology and Earthquake! This course will provide the students with an advance understanding of Seismology, i.e., Investigating Earth’s structures by seismic waves, Earthquake parameters, Focus and epicentre, Magnitude and intensity, Natural Earthquakes, Man-made energy that causes the Earthquakes, Earthquake prediction, Earthquake mitigation, Earthquake and its relationship to plate boundaries. The topics covered in this course will allow the students to better understanding of the natural and man-made sources that caused Earthquakes.
